Faceshapes

Lets face it… our face is the map of our personality and to adorn it with accessories like a pair of sunglasses, adds on to its beauty. Selecting the perfect pair is more than just checking in its UV protection. You need to find a pair that suits your facial features and not just be impulsive and wear any kind. Remember, sunglasses are merely not some fashion accessory, they are more than that. They redefine your face, they add value to it!

We humans are born with different body shapes and sizes, unless we are aliens or na’wi from Pandora! For every face shape there is a sunglass frame, from the oval, heart shaped, square to the round shape. Each has its own distinctive fit, when it comes to sunglasses.

Spend some time analyzing your facial shape and then buy a pair of glares.

  • Check your face in front of the mirror and determine what shape it is. Take help of your friend or anyone else to find out, whether it is round, oval, rectangular, heart shaped or square
  • Rectangular and square shaped sunglass frames are suitable for the round faced individuals because the fullness of their face is minimized and there is a balance of the features.
  • For the oval shaped faces any kind trendy frames work, especially, aviator, narrow, tinted or oversized ones. So, if you’re with an oval shaped face, then you’re damn lucky!
  • For the squared shaped face, oval and round frames are apt, as they soften and provide a subtle look. Rectangular and square frames are a big no-no, if you have a square shaped face
  • For all the lovable shaped… oops heart shaped face, aviator style is the best. The narrow jaw line is enhanced with this aviator shaped sunglasses

Apart from the above points, you have to keep in mind that when you are trying out the glares, see to it that it snugly fits over the ears and doesn’t comes down from your nose. When choosing a tinted glass, avoid completely dark ones, as you will experience difficulty in viewing things around.

Keep these important details in mind and see the fashion meter scaling you at the top! Following trends blindly or getting inspired by your favorite celebrity

Fitting Guide
Round
RoundA round face has curvilinear lines with the width and length in the same proportions and no angles. To make the face appear thinner and longer, try angular narrow eyeglass frames to lengthen the face, a clear bridge that widens the eyes and frames that are wider than they are deep, such as a rectangular shape.

Oval
OvalThe oval face is considered to be the ideal shape because of its balanced proportions. To keep the oval’s natural balance, look for eyeglass frames that are as wide as (or wider than) the broadest part of the face, or walnut-shaped frames that are not too deep or too narrow.

Square
SquareA square face has a strong jaw line and a broad forehead, plus the width and length are in the same proportions. To make the square face look longer and soften the angles, try narrow frame styles, frames that have more width than depth and narrow ovals.

Diamond
DiamondDiamond-shaped faces are narrow at the eye line and jaw line, and cheekbones are often high and dramatic. This is the rarest face shape. To highlights the eyes and bring out the cheekbones, try frames that have detailing or distinctive brow lines, or try rimless frames or oval and cat-eye shapes.

Base Down Trianle
Base Down TriangleThe triangular face has a narrow forehead that widens at the cheek and chin areas. To add width and emphasize the narrow upper third of the face, try frames that are heavily accented with colour and detailing on the top half or cat-eye shapes.

Base Up Triangle
Base Up Triangle (Heart)This face has a very wide top third and small bottom third. To minimize the width of the top of the face, try frames that are wider at the bottom, very light colours and materials, and rimless frame styles (which have a light, airy effect because the lenses are simply held in place to the temples by a few screws).

Oblong
OblongThe oblong face is longer than it is wide and has a long straight cheek line and sometimes a longish nose. To make the face appear shorter and more balanced, try frames that have a top-to-bottom depth, decorative or contrasting temples that add width to the face or allow bridge to shorten the nose.
